The stunning creations - Corona, Tecate Light, XX, and Sol BeerRings
Before we forget again, we want to open this entry by saying Happy Birthday to the Mose! The last thing we talked about last night when the Molesleys left to go back to their new abode at Blue Angel Resort was that it was Lyn's birthday the next day. Of course, we were going to remember that, right? Absolutely not! We spent a beautiful afternoon driving around the island in the fancy 4 wheel drive that they rented and had several opportunities to stop and celebrate with a beach foo foo drink. Did we? No! We hope that our good friend knows we have nothing but great fondness and affection for him - we just don't remember very well!
Now on to BeerRings. Gini came to Cozumel with the perfect earrings. They were fashioned out of Corona beer bottle caps. Ed and Lyn, being the entramanures that they are, saw an opportunity for new industry down here. They got to work with a wire cutter all the while thoughtfully planning what was needed to make the mass production of BeerRings a success. First and foremost, they needed materials. Lyn was trying his best to supply inventory (bottle caps from the most recently purchased 12 pack) while Ed was busy wire cutters, fashining out the rings. It was a valient effort but soon the beermeister was overcome. It became clear that there was a need for more folks willing to rise to the challenge. There was brief thought given to paying guys to drink beer with twist off tops. Quickly, through some test balloons being sent up, Ed and Lyn realized that they only had to ask and they would receive. The selfless guys down at Eco Divers got right to it when they heard what was needed. They agreed to sacrifice their health and fortunes to buy a beer, saving the caps. We also made a few shopping trips for supplies and have to say that this is the first time we selected beer based on the cap design. Even strangers were willing to help. Ed and Lyn found some guys drinking Heineken (stunning BeerRings!) on the street. The drinking buddies were not only more than willing to give Ed and Lyn the bottle caps from their current bottles but also opened the rest of the bottles saying that it was only a matter of time before they got around to finishing off the remaining bottles. What sacrifice from complete strangers. Gotta love this country. So keep your eye out for these works of art coming soon to limited outlets!
